OKAN at Lincoln Center's David Rubenstein Atrium
April 5. 7:30PM. FREE.

The duo Okan is based in Canada, but both musicians are from Cuba. And although one is a classically trained violinist and the other a classically trained percussionist, the two women in the band draw heavily on the traditional Yoruba chants and rhythms of the Afro-Cuban tradition, with a healthy dose of jazz, electronica, and pop. Juno Award-winning Afro-Cuban group OKAN, led by singer-songwriters Elizabeth Rodriguez on violin and Magdelys Savigne on percussion, play a free show on April 5 at Lincoln Center’s Rubinstein Atrium.
