Old Sea Brigade is the name used by singer Ben Cramer. His early albums had a definite indie folk sound. But recent records by Old Sea Brigade have expanded their sonic palette to include elements of rock, electronic music, and more. Cramer has also turned 30, and some of his recent songs have dealt with the idea of growing up without losing hold of your youth. So the latest album title, "5AM Paradise", comes from Cramer realizing that these days, 5AM is more like the beginning of a new day and less like the end of a long night. Old Sea Brigade plays an early show on Thurs., Nov. 17, at Mercury Lounge.
