Out on Long Island at the Planting Fields in Oyster Bay, members of Orpheus Chamber Orchestra play Wynton Marsalis’s piece The Fiddler’s Tale, a work for narrator, ensemble, and solo fiddle. It’s a jazzy reinvention of Stravinsky’s piece The Soldier’s Tale, an age-old story of a musician – here a fiddler – selling her soul to the devil, which in Marsalis’ version is The Record Company.  Members of Orpheus Chamber Orchestra come together as a jazz-inspired 7-piece chamber orchestra to play Wynton Marsalis’s piece The Fiddler’s Tale, on Fri., July 2 at Planting Fields in Oyster Bay.
