Peter Pears at Le Poisson Rouge

Gig Alerts | May 24, 2018

Peter Pears was the name of a British tenor, the partner in life and music of the great 20th century composer Benjamin Britten. But this is the 21st century, and now, Peter Pears is the name of a duo, consisting of the leading young American composer Nico Muhly and the in-demand producer/pianist/singer Thomas Bartlett. Their music draws on Indonesian gamelan music, electronics, minimalism and a particularly dreamy brand of rock.

The duo called Peter Pears plays tonight at Le Poisson Rouge, joined by members of Ensemble LPR on strings & percussion.
