The Real Colbert?
Stephen Colbert made his first appearance last night as the new host of "The Late Show" on CBS. Geoffrey Baym, professor and chair of media studies and production in the School of Media and Communication at Temple University and contributor to The Nation, reacts to last night's debut and muses about what we can expect from the new (real?) Colbert.
If you stayed up late to watch Colbert + are awake now…first of all, we're impressed! Let's talk about it: 2124339692

@BrianLehrer I caught the final test taping and was glad the Trump-Oreo bit and "narcissist" comment made it to air.

@BrianLehrer Colbert allayed any fear that he might have changed. A bit nervous, a little hyper, but as brilliant as always. Poor Jeb!.

.@BrianLehrer, definitely hints of the Colbert that interviewed John Lewis (my favorite Colbert Report interview.) Earnest and engaged.

@BrianLehrer #Colbert It was totally boring. The Jeb bit was pathetic. The oreos were embarrassing. Thumbs down. Never'll watch it again.

@BrianLehrer everyone is a TV critic! It's day one. Good grief! Let him practice for a minute.
