Red Baraat is a NY-based band, but their musical roots are in the Punjab, and especially in the lively, hard-partying wedding music of that region. Led by Sunny Jain, who plays the barrel-shaped drum known as the dhol, and featuring a handful of brass instruments, there’s not a lot of “indoor voices” to be heard here – Punjabi wedding music is usually heard outside. But if you’re into music that’s loud and fun and demands that you dance, then Red Baraat has got you covered. Red Baraat plays Wed. night, Nov. 10 at Bowery Ballroom.
