Sax player Roy Nathanson, a veteran bandleader and composer, is interested in bringing the live music experience to high school students from the South Bronx and lower Manhattan. So they’ve been working up a set of songs and stories about something that ties the students and the professionals together – the NYC subways. Monday night, April 30, at Symphony Space, experience the Subway Moon project by Roy Nathanson, which combines his band of professional jazz musicians & beatboxer with student musicians from 3 city schools to present new original songs (by the students) about the subways.
