Ruth Reichl Cooks Her Way Into a New Life

The Leonard Lopate Show | Sep 28, 2015

Chef, editor, and food writer, Ruth Reichl was stunned when Gourmet magazine, where she had been editor-in-chief, abruptly shuttered its doors. Reichl took to the kitchen to find solace and the result is her latest book, My Kitchen Year: 136 Recipes That Changed My Life. The book is part memoir and part cookbook, showcasing how spare time can reignite a passion for cooking good food.

EVENTS: On September 28, Ruth Reichl will be leading a cooking class at Eataly's La Scuola at 6:30 P.M. located at 200 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10010.

On September 29, she will be at the 92nd St. Y with Martha Stewart at 8:15 P.M. in the Buttenwieser Hall, 1395 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10128.
