S. Raekwon – "Steven’s Smile" (Weekly Music Roundup)

When we last heard from New York songwriter S. Raekwon it was 2022, when he released I Like It When You Smile, a bright, warm collection of indie pop with a hip hop beat. Well, he’s still smiling, but his new single, “Steven’s Smile,” doesn’t take things at, you should pardon the expression, face value. It’s a song about using a smile to hide the hurt and the bad things inside; the music is gritty blues-rock. And given that the S. in S. Raekwon stands for Steven, the hook in “Steven’s Smile” may be catchy, but possibly barbed as well. S. Raekwon's new single is part of our Weekly Music Roundup.
