Academy Award-winning actor Sally Field joins us to discuss her new memoir, In Pieces. Field tells her story for the first time--and in her own words--about a challenging childhood, the craft that helped her find her voice, and the emotional legacy that has shaped her journey as a both daughter and a mother.

 

Jill Soloway, (at 30:55) creator of “Transparent” and “I Love Dick,” joins us to discuss their new book, She Wants It: Desire, Power, and Toppling the Patriarchy. In this memoir, Soloway tells the story of their parent coming out as transgender, as well as how they pushed through the male-dominated landscape of Hollywood to create the groundbreaking and award-winning Amazon TV series “Transparent.” The book charts Soloway’s evolution from straight, married mother of two to identifying as queer and nonbinary.
