S.G. Goodman – "Teeth Marks" (Weekly Music Roundup)
S.G. Goodman at Mercury Lounge
June 7. 6PM. $15 + fees

S.G. Goodman made a strong first impression with her 2020 debut, Old Time Feeling. On that record she seemed to revel in the contradictions of being a queer musician living in a conservative Kentucky town, and drawing on the sounds of indie rock while singing like someone born in the hills and hollers of Appalachia. Now she’s released her sophomore effort, called Teeth Marks, and its title track features a melancholy electric guitar swinging between a couple of chords while Goodman reflects on the lingering marks left by a love affair that’s ended.

“Teeth Marks” is part of our Weekly Music Roundup, and S. G. Goodman plays early, at 6PM on Tuesday, June 7 at Mercury Lounge.
