For Seven Siblings Trapped in an NYC Apartment, Movies Were a Window to the World

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jun 10, 2015

The six Angulo brothers and one Angulo sister were raised in isolation in a Lower East Side apartment. Homeschooled and practically never having left their home, all they knew of the outside world was gleaned from the films they watched obsessively and recreated meticulously, using elaborate homemade props and costumes... until they began to escape. They are the subject of Crystal Moselle's new documentary, "The Wolfpack." She joins us along with brothers Narayana Angulo and Govinda Angulo. Opens June 12 at the Landmark Sunshine Cinemas and Film Society of Lincoln Center's Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center.
