Senate Secrets and Special Election

The Brian Lehrer Show | Jun 20, 2017

Last night, veteran Republican officeholder Karen Handel won in Georgia's special House election, despite a flood of Democratic money backing her opponent, Jon Ossoff. The Republican win caps off the four special elections for House seats vacated by Republicans who were chosen for President Donald Trump's Cabinet. Democrats didn’t manage to gain a single seat.

Katrina vanden Heuvel, The Nation magazine Editor and Publisher, discusses the latest in anxieties for the Democrats, including the secret Senate Republican healthcare bill and the loss of four special elections.
