Catherine Russell began her career by singing with rock acts, like David Bowie and Steely Dan, before launching her solo career as a Grammy-winning jazz and blues singer. But Russell still has the urge to collaborate, and last year she teamed up with trumpeter and arranger Steven Bernstein and his Millennial Territory Orchestra. Their album together, called Good Time Music, drew mostly from songwriters based in New Orleans, like Percy Mayfield. Catherine Russell and the Millennial Territory Orchestra play some of their Good Time Music on Monday, Feb. 28 in Brooklyn, at the Atlantic.
