An in Studio Conversation with John Pizzarelli

New Standards | Apr 27, 2023

The Radio Deluxe co-host spoke of his Grammy award winning turn as producer of James Taylor's acclaimed American Standard, and also about teaming with his late great guitar-god dad Bucky Pizzarelli on Paul McCartneys Kisses On The Bottom standards album.

The senior Pizzarelli passed in April 2022 and even through the still-tender grief of losing both of his parents in the early days of Covid, he summons his sparking humor and talent for mimicry in his spot-on voice impression of his father. John's cheer, talent, and humanity are why he's family here at New Standards, and a treasured life-long player in the jazz community.

You can hear the full interview with musical performances Saturday, April 29th at 8 p.m. ET and a rearing on Monday at Noon.

Want even more Pizzarelli?  You can catch him with his Radio Deluxe cohost, Jessica Molaskey, Saturdays at 10 a.m. with rebroadcasts Tuesdays at 10 p.m. and Wednesdays at 2 p.m. on New Standards.
