A Ticket, Not An Arrest, For Marijuana Possession

The Brian Lehrer Show | Nov 11, 2014

Mayor Bill de Blasio and NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton have announced that effective November 19, possession of small amounts of marijuana will not lead to arrest. Instead, officers will issue a ticket to appear in court and pay a fine of $100. President of the Citizens Crime Commission and former assistant DA, Richard Aborn, will discuss the new policy and what it means for the force and for those who would otherwise face arrest.
