Transforming the Newark Police Department

As an increasing number of U.S. police departments are forced to confront discriminatory practices and allegations of abuse and racism, a new Frontline documentary called "Policing the Police" by New Yorker contributor Jelani Cobb examines how the Newark Police Department is attempting to reform. Cobb spent over a year investigating the practices of the Newark Police Department, its troubled relationship with the people of Newark and mayor Ras Baraka’s reform efforts.

Airs June 28 at 10 p.m. on PBS.
