"The Travels of Babar" has delighted kids and their parents for generations. Now, Jean de Brunhoff’s adventurous elephant is the subject of a multimedia work by composer Raphael Mostel, which includes the original drawings, narration, and a live ensemble. The music is both family-friendly and full of interesting musical games for of the music theory types. This weekend, Mostel unveils a new production of what has become his most popular piece.

Raphael Mostel’s The Travels of Babar will be told in its original French tonight, and then in its familiar English translation, twice, tomorrow afternoon, all at Florence Gould Hall.
