Two Early, Rarely Performed Eugene O'Neill Plays Staged on a Double Bill

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jun 22, 2016

Alex Roe, artistic director of the Metropolitan Playhouse (220 East 4th Street ), talks about two early and rarely performed Eugene O’Neill plays that are being staged on a double bill, "O'Neill Unexpected": "Recklessness" and "Now I Ask You." Actors Kelly King and Emily Bennett joins the conversation to discuss their roles in the production. "Recklessness" (1913) follows a husband’s revenge when he discovers his younger wife's affair with his chauffeur. "Now I Ask You" (1916) is another look at the complications of marriage and family, but it’s also comical and mocks the yearnings O'Neill champions in other work.

Now extended with performances on June 29 and June 30 at 7:30 p.m. For tickets, visit their website.
