The Leonard Lopate Show | Oct 30, 2015

Naji Abu Nowar discusses the film he wrote and directed, “Theeb.” In 1916, while war rages in the Ottoman Empire, Hussein raises his younger brother Theeb in a traditional Bedouin community. The brothers' quiet existence is suddenly interrupted when a British Army officer and his guide ask Hussein to escort them on a treacherous journey. The film opens November 6 at the Lincoln Plaza Cinemas and at Cinema Arts Center in Huntington on November 20.
