Gig Alert: Valgeir Sigurðsson at Public Arts, Feb. 22, featuring opening set by vōx
Tickets: $20. Show at 8PM.

The tiny country of Iceland has a population of composers and musicians way out of proportion to its size. And one of the central figures on the Icelandic music scene is the composer, producer, musician, and record company founder Valgeir Sigurðsson. Originally hired as an engineer by Bjork, he has since worked with Brian Eno, American composer Nico Muhly, and the Winnipeg Symphony, among others. His music usually combines electronic and acoustic elements in unexpected ways. The Icelandic producer performs a rare solo set tomorrow night as part of the New Sounds electronic music series at Public Arts.
