'War Machine' Satirizes A General's Rise And Fall

The Leonard Lopate Show | May 24, 2017

Actors Topher Grace and Meg Tilly, and director/writer David Michod join us to talk about their new film “War Machine." Inspired by the book The Operators by Michael Hastings, the satirical film tells the story of General Glen McMahon (Brad Pitt), who takes command of forces engaged in a prolonged war. The film is loosely based around the rise and fall of United States Army General Stanley McChrystal during the war in Afghanistan.

"War Machine" is available on Netflix and opens at iPic Theatres Fulton (11 Fulton St., at Front St.) on May 26.
