This Week in Politics: When Politics Can’t Go Door To Door

Remember the election? The COVID-19 pandemic might have pushed 2020 campaigning out of the headlines for the time being. But New York's primary is still scheduled for June 23rd, and candidates are still trying their best to get noticed and win over voters.

Of course, handing out flyers on subway platforms and going door-to-door aren't options right now. Jeff Coltin is a senior reporter at City & State New York. He joins us to tell us how candidates are going about campaigning in an era of lockdowns and social distancing.

Speaking with David Furst, he talks about the added difficulty challengers face during the pandemic. Coltin says, "In a time like this, a lot of these candidates are thinking that voters might just kind of lean towards the default of voting for the incumbent."
