Why an Heir to the Warner Bros. Fortune Became a Civil Rights Lawyer

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jun 24, 2016

Lewis M. Steel, a member of the Warner Brothers family, grew up rich and white. But he ended up devoting his 50-year legal career on class action cases involving racial and sexual discrimination, including for the NAACP. In The Butler’s Child: An Autobiography, he writes about the problematic experience of coming from privilege, but working in a very different world.

Event: Lewis Steel will be reading and signing books at the Upper West Side Barnes and Noble (2289 Broadway) on Tuesday, June 28th at 7 p.m.
