The young Virginia-based musician Yasmin Williams plays the guitar almost exclusively by laying it on her lap and hammering the strings with both hands; the resulting sound can be reminiscent of a dulcimer, or even a harp. This past summer, she was wondering what she as a Black artist could contribute to the conversation about social injustice, and decided that she would offer a piece of music called "After The Storm." On Friday night, Nov. 20, Yasmin Williams joins two other extraordinary guitarists, Marisa Anderson and William Tyler, for a special online show from the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville.
