Yemen Blues at Le Poisson Rouge
Sept. 12. 7PM. $45.43

The band Yemen Blues is led by Ravid Kahalani, an Israeli vocalist who draws on the ancient, largely unbroken tradition of Yemeni Jewish singing. The group serves up a spicy mix of psychedelic rock, Bedouin folk, and jazz improvisation, often politically-charged and almost always danceable. Yemen Blues’ latest album is pointedly called Only Love Remains, featuring songs sung in Yemeni Arabic and set to an African-inspired groove. Yemen Blues performs on Sept. 12 at Le Poisson Rouge.
