A Greenmarket once stood at the base of the Twin Towers

WNYC News | 8 hours ago

On this 25th anniversary of September 11, we revisit a Greenmarket that operated out of the southeast corner base of the World Trade Center and was open on that tragic day.

Amelia Tarpey, Program and Publicity Manager for GrowNYC Greenmarkets, said the market opened in 1984 and became one of the more popular ones serving the area.

Today, the Tribeca, Bowling Green and City Hall Greenmarkets serve the area.
