NY lawmakers pass the budget, then line up for paychecks

Lawmakers passed the state budget on May 27, eight weeks after it was due. A state law meant to encourage lawmakers to pass an on-time budget meant 63 state senators and 150 assemblymembers went nearly 60 days without a paycheck. It is the longest they've gone without a paycheck in 16 years.
