
First extreme heat wave hits NYC. Here's what you need to know.

We are in the midst of an extreme heat wave here in the New York region. Today is the hottest day of the year so far, with the high temperature reaching well over 100 degrees. The heat wave coincides with Fourth of July activities, and even a World Cup game at the Meadowlands.
Christina Farrell is the city’s Emergency Management Commissioner. She joins WNYC's Sean Carlson to talk more about the heat wave.
