Frequently Asked Questions
WNYC.org Changes
Why the change?
We’ve updated the WNYC website to provide a better, more reliable experience for our listeners. Our goal is to create a user-friendly experience so you can find what you need quickly and spend more time listening. We hope that listeners find it easy to listen live, see what’s currently on the air, and discover new programming online and in the WNYC app.
Where can I find the schedule?
Select Daily Schedule from the top of the homepage. From there, you can access and download a PDF of our weekly schedule.
Where is the “Search” option? Can I still search by topic, like I do with the app?
Search isn’t currently available on our website, but we’re actively working to improve this feature and appreciate your patience in the meantime.
Streams
Where is the AM stream?
WNYC consolidated our FM and AM schedules into a single, unified lineup. This change reflects the technical limitations of AM transmission, evolving listener habits online, and a goal to simplify operations by managing one consistent radio feed.
You can still listen to AM 820 through your radio via live broadcast.
What happened to the playlist information for the New Sounds stream?
The New Sounds team is currently working on updates to improve the livestream experience, including enhancing the track information displayed and making the playlist easier to discover on the page.
In the meantime, the full playlist history for New Sounds can be found at wqxr.org by selecting the + More Streams button in the player.
Programming
Where are local news segments posted?
You can find them under the show “WNYC News”
I only see a few shows in the Browse All Shows menu. Where are shows like BBC, Marketplace, The Moth, Selected Shorts and Snap Judgment?
We have shows for all WNYC produced content and select NPR shows. We are working to expand support for other partner shows.
WNYC produces many of the shows available on our site, but we also air programs created by partner organizations that use a variety of different systems to manage their content. On our previous website, we linked directly to many of those external sites, but that approach often led to broken links and other issues that required frequent manual fixes.
Expanding access to more partner programming on our new site is something we plan to continue working toward over time. In the meantime, here is a list of partner-produced shows along with direct links to their program pages so listeners can more easily find and access them.
How can I see the schedule for a previous day’s programming?
The Daily Schedule page only shows today’s programming and an option for future days. The previous system for viewing past schedules had become difficult to maintain and occasionally caused issues, so we simplified that feature to help make the website more reliable and stable overall.
Where can I find info about a specific show?
Select Browse All Shows from the top of the homepage. On the page you’ll find a list of our shows and a search bar.
How can I access archives for older shows and features?
We’re currently working on improving how listeners can access all of our content, including archived shows and episodes. While the content is still available, some items may be more difficult to locate as we rebuild and enhance the tools that surface this information on our website.
In the meantime, searching for a specific program or episode through Google may help you access content directly more easily.
Events
Where can I find more info about The Green Space and live events?
You can find information about The Greene Space and view upcoming events on the events page.
Transcripts & Accessibility
Where can I find transcripts of a program I heard?
Most WNYC shows post transcripts on episode pages. Find the episode you’re looking for and click the “Transcript” option. If you’re unable to locate a transcript for a particular show, please contact us here.
Where can I find information about accessibility and where can I go to request a transcript if I don’t see it?
Our accessibility policy is linked in the footer and can be found here: https://images-demo.gothamist.com/documents/accessibility_policy_6.25.25.pdf.
