In Good Health: RFK Jr.'s antidepressant 'fix'

1A | Jun 9

Around 340 million antidepressant prescriptions are written each year in the U.S. One in six American adults takes one. And one in ten children is on prescription medication for their mental health.

In early May, Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. spoke at a mental health summit hosted by the MAHA Institute:

Too many patients begin treatment without a clear understanding of the risks or how long they will stay on these drugs or how they will come off of them. That’s not informed consent and we are going to fix it.

What “fix” does the secretary have planned, and what will it mean for doctors and patients?
