Marty Isenberg’s The Way I Feel Inside at Joe's Pub
June 3. 9:30PM. $30.

Marty Isenberg is a bassist, composer, and bandleader. He is also a big fan of the films of Wes Anderson. That’s important to mention, because Isenberg’s album The Way I Feel Inside is essentially a playlist or mixtape inspired by Anderson’s offbeat, deadpan approach to storytelling, and by his use of pre-existing songs in his films. So Isenberg and his band play a collection of songs from The Velvet Underground, David Bowie, Elliot Smith, Nick Drake, and more, as if they were Wes Anderson’s version of a mid-century jazz band.  Marty Isenberg and his band play The Way I Feel Inside on June 3 at Joe’s Pub.
