Who Doesn't Want Their Own Black Panther in Kitty Form?
It's true that black cats are often associated with bad luck.
But it's also true that black cats are cute, especially when they fit in your hand. Indeed, the ASPCA in New York says black cats are adopted more than any other color of animal.
Joey Teixeira, an ASPCA senior manager, says more black cats come into shelters in the first place, and that feeds the "myth" that black cats are unwanted.Â
"If you have four black cats and one white cat," Teixeira told WNYC, "and a black cat and a white cat both get adopted, the perception is that, because there's still more black cats, those are being overlooked, which isn't actually the case."
